John Lovich, Business Founder & Owner

The son of Italian migrant parents, John Lovich was born in Adelaide, where he spent most of his younger years. When he was in his early teens, he was taken to Italy on a family holiday and ended up staying there for 5 years and doing his Automotive Mechanical Apprenticeship at an Alfa Romeo, Lancia and Fiat dealership.

Returning to Australia after 5 years away, John worked for Prestige Car Sales in Adelaide on European vehicles for 8 years before buying a 4WD with plans to travel around Australia. Upon reaching the Northern Territory, he decided that Darwin was where he was going to stay. He joined a car dealership and was made Workshop Foreman within 3 months. After 3 years, John decided it was time to open and establish his own business, NT Auto Repairs, in which he worked out of a leased workshop. In 2004, John had the opportunity to buy his own workshop at 9 Steele Street, Winnellie.

John handles repairs to all makes and models of cars, including most European cars. He is also an approved member of the AANT and the Institute Of Automotive Mechanical Engineers. He also does repair work for most insurance companies. With his dedication to giving his customers the best possible results and excellent customer service, John has great pride in his work and attention to detail. John's mechanics have also been personally trained by John and have been with him since their apprenticeships started.
